Whether you are a seasoned pro or love your point and shoot camera, you will benefit from Nathan’s expert instruction. Learn how to use your camera and apply basic and advanced photo techniques to capture the types of images you have always wanted.
Create memories, learn a craft, and capture images that will last a lifetime. Students will get hands on shooting experience and one on one instruction from an experienced educator, and learn a skill that will enhance not only this once in a lifetime trip to Orvieto, but all future travels and shooting opportunities.
Nathan Bett is an award winning photographer and educator living in Brooklyn, New York. He is a recipient of the Annual Juried Prize from the Camera Club of New York, and the Dame Joan Edna Prize for Australian and American Artists, among others. His work has shown galleries and festivals including the Aperture Gallery, the Photoville Festival, The Leiden International Festival Of Photography, and The Ping Yao International Photo Festival. Nathan currently teaches photography at Lehman College in The Bronx, New York. He has previously taught at the College of Staten Island, United Photo Industries, and The Brooklyn Arts Council, as well as other arts and education groups throughout New York City. Nathan has been involved in various aspects of the photography industry for more than 15 years, and as an educator for 5 years. He has a passion for working with students to help them achieve their goals within photography and creative expression. Nathan holds a Masters of Art from Parsons The New School For Design, and a Bachelors of Fine Art from Northern Michigan University.
Daily lessons will include street photography, architecture, portrait, landscape, sunset and night photography, all while taking in the Etruscan beauty of Orvieto.
Beginners will receive instruction on camera operation and photo basics. Advanced shooters will have a guided tour alongside a seasoned professional to help them capture their best work and push their skills and boundaries.
Mornings will be spent in creative exploration, either in the studio or out around Orvieto. In the afternoon you will experience the culture of Italy. It might be a tour into the Etruscan caves, a cooking class, or a vineyard visit. There will also be plenty of free time to explore Orvieto on your own. You will receive a more detailed itinerary for the week in your final information packet sent before you travel.
A traditional continental breakfast is served each morning in the B&B. Because Italian cuisine is such fun, some meals are not prearranged allowing you the freedom to choose where and what to eat. Recommendations are offered and no one eats alone!
